What is schistosomiasis? When it comes into contact with a human, it burrows painlessly into the skin, and matures into a schistosomula.

The parasite migrates to the lungs and liver, where it matures into the adult form. As an adult, the parasite can migrate near anywhere in the body, including the intestines and spleen.
